Suunto JSON Import LIVE JSON

Your Suunto dives.
Out of the app.

The newer Suunto dive computers — the Suunto Ocean and its siblings — sync over Bluetooth to exactly one place: Suunto's own app. They won't pair with a third-party dive log. So if you want those dives to live anywhere else, something has to read what the Suunto app exports. DeepSix Dive Log does.

Why this is rare

Others could have. We did.

The Suunto app can export your dives as JSON. In principle, any dive log could read that file — in practice, almost none do, so Suunto divers end up stuck inside a single app. DeepSix wrote a schema-aware importer that maps Suunto's JSON into your dive history: profile, gas, depth, site, conditions — the lot.

In principle it covers any Suunto computer the app supports. In practice it's the answer for the newer, app-only watches like the Ocean, which have no other way out.

What we keep

We keep everything the export contains.

The importer doesn't cherry-pick the fields we happen to display today. It absorbs the whole record — and anything DeepSix doesn't surface yet is preserved verbatim, ready to be promoted the moment the feature that uses it ships. Nothing in your Suunto export is thrown away.

Dive profile Sample stream — depth, temperature, time
Gas & deco Gas mixes, setpoints, and deco data from the export
Dive metadata Date, duration, max depth, site, conditions
Tank pressure Where your transmitter recorded it
3D dead-reckon track Suunto's underwater positional map — absorbed, not yet displayed
Everything else Unused / unknown fields preserved verbatim for future features
On the roadmap

Suunto maps your dive in 3D.
We're holding onto it.

The newer Suunto computers use dead reckoning to build a three-dimensional map of where you went underwater — not just a depth-over-time profile, but a path through the water.

DeepSix doesn't draw that yet — it's on our list. But because we absorb everything on import, the track is already sitting in your dive record, waiting for the feature that renders it. Import today; see it the day it ships. Your data doesn't have to wait for the roadmap.

Roadmap, not shipped: 3D dead-reckon track visualization. The data is imported and stored now; the view comes later.
What's New

Your Suunto dives. New capabilities.

Once a dive is in, the rest of DeepSix goes to work on it — the same enrichment your reef and photo dives get.

Wreck History
Import a wreck dive and DeepSix looks up the vessel, finds the Wikipedia summary, and flags war graves with a respectful amber banner.

Got a Suunto? We need your dives.

Suunto JSON import ships in the app. We'd love exports from Suunto Ocean owners — and anything odd, tell us in Discord or at [email protected].
