Gear Tracking LIVE

Your gear should
log itself.

DeepSix Dive Log tracks every piece of kit you own — what it is, what it looks like, what it cost, whose it is, which dives it's been on, how many hours it's worked, and when it's due for service. Then it does the part most gear trackers skip: it puts the right gear on the right dives without you typing it in every time.

The Whole Lifecycle

From unboxing to service bench.

Add it Category, photos, hero shot, serial, price & currency, owner
Kit it Group items into Kits — "Warm Water", "Doubles", "Travel"
Dive it Auto-add, one-tap Kit attach, or pick per dive
Track it Usage hours from summed bottom time, per item
Service it Intervals with warnings — or "None (never service)"
On Every Dive

The gear card knows what you wore.

Every dive carries a Gear card — icon tiles grouped by category, each showing the item's own photo, with a service warning badge on anything overdue. Tap a tile and you're on that item's detail page, dive history and all.

Filling it in is the fast part. Items marked auto-add join every manually-logged dive on their own. A Kit — your saved "Warm Water" or "Doubles" configuration — attaches to a dive in one tap, and a Kit flagged for auto-add brings all its members along, exposure rating included. Need to backfill an old trip? Multi-select dives and assign gear to all of them in a single action.

Downloaded and imported dives can be seeded too — opt in, and dives arriving from your dive computer get your default cylinder and auto-add gear. Non-destructively: the gas mix and pressures your computer recorded are never overwritten.

Every Category

Eighteen icons. No "miscellaneous" pile.

Regulators, BCDs, computers, suits, tanks, lights, cameras, weights — and the categories other logs forget: boots, gloves, hood, air-integration transmitters. Each gets its own custom-drawn icon, so a gear card reads at a glance instead of as a wall of identical wrenches.

Every category allows multiple items per dive. Backplate and wing are two BCD entries. Twin lights, stage bottles, layered exposure protection — the model matches how technical and traveling divers actually rig, not a one-slot-per-category form.

Maintenance

Service intervals that count real hours underwater.

Serviced categories carry sensible defaults — 12 months for regulators, BCDs, and tanks, 24 for computers — or set any interval from 3 to 36 months on any item. A backplate that never needs a bench visit takes an explicit "None (never service)" instead of nagging you forever.

Alongside the calendar, every item shows usage hours: the summed bottom time of the dives it's actually been on. When your service tech asks how many hours are on the first stage, you have a number, not a shrug.

Whose Gear Is It?

Your regulator. Her computer. One logbook.

Every item can carry an owner. Log dives for yourself and a partner or your kids, and the gear picker shows each dive's diver their own gear (plus anything unowned) — no scrolling past someone else's fins. Group the gear page by owner to see each diver's kit at a glance, and bulk-assign owners when you're organizing an existing library.

The Paper Trail

Photos, price, and provenance.

Attach photos to any item and pick one as its hero — the face it wears in lists, grids, pickers, and the dive's gear card, on all your devices. Record what it cost with a proper currency-formatted price field and an ISO currency picker, so an insurance claim or a resale listing starts from your logbook, not a shoebox of receipts.

Switching from MacDive?

Your gear closet comes across — deduplicated.

MacDive imports are notorious for minting the same regulator three times. DeepSix closes the duplicate factory from both ends: re-imports recognize and reuse existing gear, and a Merge Duplicate Gear tool heals what earlier imports left behind — with a preview before anything is merged.

Import a MacDive support zip and your gear photos travel too, as synced images on every device. Owner assignments recorded in MacDive carry across as well. More on the MacDive import →
